Eliminate Down is a horizontal shooter where the player's ship faces enemy waves approaching from multiple directions. Its mechanics include a selection of three interchangeable weapons and adjustable ship speed.
Power-ups are released by specific enemy formations, providing shields and enhancements to the player's arsenal. Collecting five of these upgrades improves all weapon types simultaneously. The journey consists of eight stages, most featuring both a mid-level and a concluding boss encounter.
Players can select from three difficulty settings, making the experience adjustable. A separate diversion is included, resembling a target practice game where rotating ship icons on a grid must be struck.
