Beast Wrestler Overview
Beast Wrestler is an isometric fighting game where players control dragons or beasts in one on one combat. The arena is enclosed by an electric fence, which can be used strategically to damage opponents or launch jump attacks. Fighters have a limited move set consisting of basic punches and tail strikes, alongside a special move that becomes available only when a specific icon appears. Close quarters combat allows for rapid button presses to execute throws or chokes.
Player progression is handled through a Tournament mode, where one begins with a weak dragon and must improve its capabilities through successive battles. Victories allow the dragon's Power, Speed, and Stamina to be increased. Between fights, a shop offers various items, including stat boosting food and informational Data Disks on other dragons. Training is a straightforward process of selecting which attribute to enhance. At certain intervals, a dragon's genetic code can be merged with that of a defeated foe to acquire new abilities.
Health is not represented by a traditional bar. Instead, three icons at the screen's bottom track damage; each time a dragon is knocked down for an extended period, one icon turns red. The match is lost when all three icons become red. For immediate play, a Match mode is available for one or two players, offering a selection of different dragons for a single bout.
