Tetris Attack Overview
Tetris Attack is an action puzzle game that uses characters and a setting from Yoshi's Island. In its narrative, Yoshi acts alone to free his enslaved friends from a spell cast by Bowser.
The core puzzle system involves a rising stack of blocks. The player manipulates a cursor to swap blocks horizontally, aiming to create rows or columns of three or more identical pieces to clear them. This can trigger chain reactions as new blocks fall, and successful combos send obstructive garbage blocks to an opponent.
Multiple play modes are available. These include a story-based single-player campaign, a two-player competitive mode, and several challenge variants like endless play, timed clearing objectives, and specific puzzle solutions with a limited number of moves. The title is an adaptation of the Japanese game Panel de Pon.
