Dropzone is a Defender style game where a jet pack equipped spaceman flies over a desolate terrain. The skies contain various alien types, including the aggressive Nemesite and the slow Blunder Storm.
Some aliens will attempt to capture the small men walking on the ground. The player must shoot the alien without harming the man to perform a rescue. A key hazard is the android, which resembles a human but is deadly if collected.
The primary objective is to transport all rescued men to a surface base for safety, which defines the Dropzone. This creates a challenging cycle of interception and careful shooting amidst fast paced scrolling action.
