Bust-A-Move 3 DX Overview
Bust-A-Move 3 DX is a tile matching game where the player operates a cannon fixed at the screen's bottom. This cannon fires individual bubbles upward toward a clustered arrangement of bubbles at the top. The core objective is to eliminate all bubbles from the playfield by forming groups of three or more that share the same shade, a visual distinction necessitated by the hardware's technical constraints.
The available modes are limited to two primary options. One is an arcade mode, which replicates the original arcade release and includes a single player campaign as well as matches against computer controlled opponents. The other is a challenge mode focused on speed, tasking the player with clearing a set sequence of twenty five levels.
This Game Boy title is functionally identical to the console release known as Bust-A-Move '99, though it offers a reduced selection of gameplay modes. Player interaction is centered on aiming the cannon laterally and firing to create matching clusters, which clears the screen.
