Spy Hunter Overview
Spy Hunter for the Game Boy Advance is a mission based driving game where the player operates an armed vehicle called the G-6155 Interceptor. The core objective is to oppose the Nostra Corporation across a series of levels, each with a mandatory primary goal and optional secondary tasks.
Mission completion is governed by a time limit, with progress to new stages locked behind achieving the primary objective. Secondary goals serve to unlock additional gameplay variations. Tasks during missions are diverse, ranging from target destruction and obstacle navigation to protecting civilians and activating devices by driving over them.
Combat involves using offensive weapons like machine guns and missiles against enemy vehicles, while defensive tools such as oil slicks are also available. These armaments are acquired either from pick ups on the road or from a specific weapons van. The level design for this portable version is distinct from its console counterpart, built to utilize the system's graphical capabilities.
Beyond the standard missions, several alternate modes are present. Special Agent mode modifies the standard levels by populating them with chickens for the player to run over or shoot. A Secret Agent mode uses the same stages and objectives but rearranges enemy and item placement. An Arcade mode allows for unrestricted play in a single level focused on achieving a high destruction score. The game also supports two player competition via link cable, with matches centered on either activating devices or eliminating chickens.
