Shonen Jump's One Piece for the Game Boy Advance is a sidescrolling action title that follows Monkey D. Luffy's East Blue journey. The game is structured around seven distinct Stories, each containing three stages that culminate in a boss encounter.
Luffy's primary combat utility stems from his rubber physiology, which allows for both direct attacks and environmental interaction. His stretchy limbs can be used to strike distant foes or navigate levels by grabbing poles and items. While special moves and crew assists are available via a collected power meter, many standard enemies can be dispatched with basic combos.
Progression involves recruiting crew members and confronting both rival pirates and the Navy across various islands. Outside the main stages, a timed Ship Battle Royale mode appears between Stories. Completing the game unlocks an endless version of this mode, while collecting pirate coins during regular gameplay provides access to a boss rush challenge.
