Sheep Overview
Sheep for the Game Boy Advance is a real-time puzzle game where the player, controlling a sheep dog, must herd groups of sheep into a truck before time expires. The core herding mechanics involve moving near sheep to push them away, navigating obstacles, and avoiding hazards. Additional canine abilities include barking to motivate the flock, carrying individual sheep, and laying down treats to create a path for them to follow.
Progression is organized into stages, with multiple levels available in any order within a stage. Before starting a level, players can choose from different sheep types, where more difficult-to-control varieties offer a higher score multiplier. The initial choice between two dogs with distinct attributes like speed and strength is expanded as more canines are unlocked through gameplay.
Beyond the primary Normal Mode, an Arrange Mode revisits the same stages and levels but adds a progression system. Both the dog and the sheep can level up; the dog improves its abilities by achieving certain scores, while sheep level up by accomplishing specific in-level feats. This can create a challenging dynamic if a sheep surpasses the dog's level, leading to disobedience. Completing the main modes unlocks a Training Mode for direct access to any level.
