Sheepteroids Overview

Sheepteroids was one of those games you'd find buried in a Flash portal around 2008. It didn't have a big studio name attached, just a simple, odd idea that felt right at home in that era of quick, experimental browser games. You loaded it up in a moment between other tasks, not expecting much, and found yourself in a green, hilly landscape with a very specific problem.

You control a stationary turret at the bottom of the screen. Your job is to shoot the sheep that are floating upward because they've eaten too much helium-rich grass. You click with the mouse to fire, trying to pop each sheep before it drifts off the top of the screen. The challenge comes from their increasing numbers and the way they bump into each other, changing their trajectories. If a sheep escapes, you lose one of your limited lives. The pace starts slow but builds steadily, demanding quicker reflexes and more careful shots as the sky fills with woolly, floating targets. It feels like a tense, slightly silly race against gravity, or the lack of it.
