Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Kaznapped is a single-player platformer adapted from the Cartoon Network series. The narrative begins with the pop duo seeking rest after a tour, only for their obsessive fan Harmony to kidnap their manager Kaz and steal their instruments, forcing Ami and Yumi into a rescue mission.
Gameplay involves navigating six distinct worlds, each containing three areas, with an additional world accessible after completion. The two characters possess separate abilities; one can sing to swing across gaps, while the other uses a guitar to move heavy objects. These skills are necessary to overcome specific environmental puzzles encountered during progression.
Enemies include robotic Kaz-bots, which can be directly attacked, and enthusiastic fans who must merely be distracted to avoid point penalties. Player resources can be managed by interacting with the duo's cats, one of which restores health and the other grants an extra life.
