Hammerin' Harry: Ghost Building Company is a sequel that shifts the protagonist's conflict from rival workers to spectral forces. The journey spans multiple distinct environments, culminating in a confrontation with a central antagonist housed within a specific headquarters.
Gameplay alternates between two primary modes. The core experience is a beat-em-up where Harry navigates stages, facing a boss at each conclusion. A secondary horizontal shooter sequence activates between these stages, changing the perspective and requiring the player to manage airborne threats.
While Harry's signature mallet remains an option, a more powerful spiked ball weapon can be acquired during play. The progression through five main stages provides a structured, fair challenge as the player moves from construction sites and sewers to more exotic locales like jungles and airships.
