Back to Stone Overview
Back to Stone is an isometric action title for the Game Boy Advance, presented on a 32-megabit cartridge. Its narrative begins in a peaceful human society, a peace shattered when a discovered black book unleashes demonic forces. The player controls an unnamed escapee from these demons, a subject transformed by dark experiments. This transformation replaces his human form with a demonic essence, granting great strength and the unique power to petrify flesh.
The journey spans roughly ten to fifteen hours, progressing through around twenty distinct environments. These include deserts, ice lands, swamps, and lost cities, each featuring specific interactive elements like wind, water, or moving platforms. The world is populated by numerous adversaries, including common monsters and more formidable Boss Master demons.
Gameplay involves navigating these areas, solving various enigmas, and collecting objects to unlock magical abilities. When the challenges become more challenging, a small helper character appears to offer guidance. The experience is interspersed with cinematic sequences and character dialogues that advance the story.
