Advance Guardian Heroes Overview
Advance Guardian Heroes is a side scrolling beat em up action title for the Game Boy Advance. It serves as a sequel to the SEGA Saturn's Guardian Heroes. The core objective involves securing the Legendary Soul Sword from a grave to prevent a global threat.
Players select one of three initial characters, who are later accompanied by a legendary Soul Hero from another dimension. Defeated enemies yield crystals, which are used between levels to strengthen attributes like MP and HP. Crystals can also be contributed to a Laboratory to eventually unlock additional characters.
The game offers two primary modes. The story mode supports solo play or cooperative play for two via a link cable. A separate VS. mode facilitates battles for up to four players. While three characters are available at the start, a total of twenty can be unlocked for use in the VS. mode.
