The Gene Machine Overview
The Gene Machine is a 2D adventure game where players interact with the world through a point-and-click interface. Its visual presentation uses background art to create a sense of three-dimensional space, viewed from a third-person perspective.
The narrative follows a British gentleman named Piers Featherstonehaugh and his servant Mossop, who are drawn into a global investigation after a bizarre encounter at their London home. Their mission to thwart a scheme involving genetic anomalies leads them to interact with a variety of characters, including both humans and animals capable of speech.
Progress is largely driven by solving puzzles, which frequently require the use of numerous objects collected into an inventory during exploration. The player guides Piers across various locations to advance the story.
