Mad Paradox Overview
Mad Paradox is a linear role-playing game designed for the DOS operating system, controlled entirely through keyboard input. The player assumes the role of Mash, a seventeen-year-old orphan whose peaceful life in Dorah village is disrupted upon learning the truth about his parents' murder. His quest for vengeance targets a mysterious figure named Gorgus, who possesses command over fire and was responsible for killing Mash's father and mother, the former benevolent rulers.
Gameplay involves navigating towns and dungeons from a top-down perspective, following a structured progression where tasks are completed in one location before moving to the next. Combat encounters with monsters are handled through a strictly turn-based system, common to older RPGs, where characters gain experience points and collect items. Alongside the central revenge plot, the narrative includes sub-quests often focused on rescuing girls, which are accompanied by anime-style artwork; the game also contains scenes depicting nudity.
An additional layer to Mash's mission is a directive from his guardian, Samos, to locate a specific girl marked with a symbol, though her purpose remains unclear. The journey culminates in a final confrontation with Gorgus, concluding the game.
