Jungledyret Hugo is a platform game adapted from a 1993 Danish animated film. The protagonist is a rare jungle animal named Jack, also known as Hugo, who must navigate an urban environment after fleeing from a pursuing actress.
His objective is to reach a boat that will return him to his home in the Indian jungle. He is aided in this journey by a character named Rita the Fox.
Gameplay involves navigating hazards, which are primarily avoided by jumping onto their heads. An exception to this method is electrical wires. The character collects fruit power-ups, which replenish energy and increase the player's score.
