Jimmy Connors Pro Tennis Tour is a tennis simulation where players begin by defining an athlete's attributes. Points are allocated to specific skills like backhand and forehand power, as well as overall speed. These foundational ratings can be improved through competitive success in matches.
The structure involves entering various tournaments, including the full APT circuit and the Davis Cup event. Performing well in these competitions yields prize money. Matches can be played in both singles and doubles formats, with an unusual option for one player to face two opponents simultaneously.
A dedicated training section allows for practice against a programmable ball machine, which can be configured to drill particular shots. This mode also supports playing against another person for casual matches.
