Fracas Overview
Fracas supports one to four players using keyboards or joysticks, drawing clear inspiration from the Bomberman genre. Its two distinct modes share a common maze environment filled with obstructive boulders.
In the primary single-player mode, a wizard navigates these mazes while avoiding patrolling enemies. The character employs delayed-explosion cauldrons as bombs to clear paths and eliminate foes. Destroying boulders can sometimes yield gems that enhance spell capacity or explosive range. Eliminating all enemies causes a portal to spawn, advancing the player to the next stage. A sixty-level structure is present, with completion codes allowing progress to be saved, indicating a challenging extended campaign.
The alternative Battle Mode is designed for multiplayer competition, removing computer-controlled enemies so players contend directly against each other. Before a match, participants can configure the maze layout and set the number of rounds, with a maximum of nine. The core mechanics of bomb placement and maze navigation remain central to this confrontational play.
