Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp Overview
Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp is a home computer adaptation of an arcade sequel. The player controls Dirk the Daring, who must rescue his kidnapped wife Daphne from the wizard Mordroc. This quest involves traveling through various time periods and dimensions via a time machine discovered in a castle.
The gameplay requires precise timing, as the player must press the correct button for movement or sword action during automatically advancing animated scenes. Failure to do so results in death, making the experience challenging. This version omits the visual cues found in the original arcade machine.
Readysoft developed this title, selecting and adapting specific segments from the arcade version's narrative for the home release. All animation was newly created to be compatible with the technical constraints of 16-bit computer systems.
