Bluppo Overview
Bluppo is an arcade title for one or two players where the objective involves gathering fish. The protagonist seeks to open a restaurant by preparing a meal that requires three thousand rare fish, leading him to explore underwater environments.
Gameplay occurs in areas where fish swim in isolated water pockets surrounded by earth, mud, or stone. The player can dig through earth but must avoid or destroy certain stone barriers with bombs. Various threats exist, including sharks, falling rocks, and explosive hazards, though some friendly fish can assist by consuming enemies. Additional oxygen tanks are placed in some stages to extend the available time.
Each puzzle is completed by collecting a precise number of fish shown on screen and then reaching an exit gate. Failure to gather the exact quantity, such as if a fish is destroyed, prevents progression and results in the character's demise. The entire experience is governed by a depleting oxygen supply that acts as a timer for every level.
The registered version provides sixty single-player and sixty two-player stages, along with support for Soundblaster audio. Players can save their progress using one of six dedicated slots.
