Alien Trilogy Overview
Alien Trilogy is a first person shooter structured around three distinct campaigns, each adapting a film from the original series. Players assume the role of Ellen Ripley across these environments, which include a colony complex, a prison planet, and a derelict spacecraft. Progress through the roughly ten missions per section is gated by completing specific objectives, such as eliminating a quota of foes or locating key items.
The opposition encompasses the full xenomorph life cycle, from facehuggers and chestbursters to warrior and dog aliens, with an alien queen serving as the final adversary in each campaign. Human adversaries also appear, represented by compromised Company personnel who are either infected or hostile. To survive, players utilize an arsenal including a pistol, shotgun, pulse rifle, flamethrower, and smart gun.
Levels are stocked with ammunition, health upgrades, and other supplies, while hidden areas can be revealed with explosives. Navigation is aided by an automap and a motion tracker that detects moving enemies. Visibility in dark areas is managed through battery powered shoulder lamps and night vision goggles, making the environmental exploration fair in its demands.
