Super Black Bass Overview
Super Black Bass is a fishing simulation structured around tournament progression across four distinct lakes. Each location presents the objective of landing a specific total weight of bass within a set time limit.
Gameplay alternates between navigating a boat using directional and acceleration controls, and an active fishing mode. A fish finder aids in locating promising fishing spots from the boat. The act of fishing involves selecting from eight lure types with various color options, casting with a timing mechanic, and then controlling the lure's retrieval.
While reeling, fish are visible as silhouettes in the water, with larger specimens indicated by darker shadows. Hooking a fish initiates a tension management minigame where the line will snap if stress becomes too high; the line can also be cut manually. The primary catch is bass, though other species like trout and pike are also present.
Player progression is tracked through a password system and involves improving two character attributes, Technique and Strength, by catching more bass. The tournament structure, from amateur to professional levels, implies a challenging skill curve.
