Little Magic Overview
Little Magic is a top-down puzzle game where the player controls May, a magic school apprentice completing her final exam. The central objective across levels is to manipulate a magic stone onto a specific tile to unlock an exit.
May's primary tools are a pushing action, which can move objects from a distance, and the ability to generate magic bubbles in three sizes. These bubbles pop after a timed duration, and their explosion can displace adjacent objects like the stone or other bubbles. Strategic placement to create chain reactions is often required to solve puzzles, especially to navigate obstacles like water that May cannot traverse.
The environment introduces significant complexity through various interactive tiles. These include surfaces that impede movement like grass and ice, hazards like spikes that destroy the stone, and restrictive tiles that prevent bubble creation. Enemies with set patrol routes appear and can be temporarily halted by bubbles, though not eliminated. The introduction of mechanics like collapsing floors, teleporters, and these environmental hazards makes the progression challenging as the game advances.
