Lamborghini: American Challenge Overview
Lamborghini: American Challenge is a racing game where progression is tied to financial management and competitive performance. The player begins with a modest vehicle and a small bankroll, needing to fund entries into numerous races across the country.
Competition involves a structured series of divisions, each containing a roster of twenty primary rivals. Only a few of these rivals appear in any given event, which are further populated by unpredictable local drivers. These locals can influence race outcomes by taking finishing positions, and their skill level is disclosed beforehand along with the potential for police patrols.
Law enforcement introduces a challenging risk element; exceeding a speed threshold marks the player for pursuit. Police vehicles will attempt to cause damage, which degrades performance. The player can either try to finish the race impaired or submit to a stop, incurring a financial penalty and a loss of points, with fines increasing if they are caught after a chase.
Earnings from racing can be supplemented through a betting system against the championship rivals. Wagers are settled based on the lower of the two bets if a rival wins, while a victory by a local driver only returns the original stake. Acquired funds are used to purchase various performance upgrades like enhanced tires, engine parts, and temporary speed boosts.
Advancement to a higher division requires completing a special timed event called the Divisional Challenge. Access to this event is purchased in sets of three attempts, providing a limited number of opportunities to succeed within a challenging course segment.
