Dashin' Desperadoes Overview
Dashin' Desperadoes is a competitive side-scrolling platformer where two cowboys race through obstacle courses. Their objective is to be the first to reach a girl, with her affection serving as the prize for victory.
The competition spans six distinct worlds, each containing three levels. Progress to a new world requires the player to sabotage the opponent's vehicle in a final level, a scenario where the girl has been taken. Both single and multiplayer utilize a horizontal split-screen, allowing racers to monitor and potentially impede each other's progress.
Gameplay involves standard running and jumping, augmented by a periodic dash for bursts of speed. Runners can collect weapons and utilize environmental elements; while some obstacles hinder progress, others like skateboards, springboards, and special shoes provide advantages. The presence of multiple routes through each course adds a strategic layer to navigating these hazards.
