World Soccer Overview
International Superstar Soccer is a handheld adaptation of a console soccer series. It simulates international competition with a selection of thirty six national teams.
Match conditions can be adjusted prior to play. Options include setting the game length and toggling fouls on or off. The method for resolving overtime, either through a golden goal or extended play, is also configurable.
Team management is part of the experience, allowing for changes to formation and player positioning before a match and at halftime. Individual athlete performance is influenced by a condition rating separate from their base statistics.
On field actions are divided between offensive and defensive maneuvers. Attacking plays involve passing and shooting, while defending includes sliding tackles and switching the controlled athlete. This Game Boy entry does not support a multi player mode.
