Toxic Crusaders Overview
Toxic Crusaders is a Game Boy adaptation of a puzzle game originally released on the Sega Game Gear. The core gameplay involves matching colored pieces, similar to other titles in the genre.
Several distinct modes are included. Beyond the standard puzzle mode, there is a specialized puzzle challenge where players clear a pre-arranged board using a limited set of pieces. A link cable mode is also available for competitive play against another player.
The game incorporates characters from Osamu Tezuka's manga, such as Astro Boy and Black Jack. These characters are selectable and appear in a side panel, where their expressions change based on gameplay events. Player progress, including high scores, can be stored across multiple sessions using three available save slots.
