Mr. Chin's Gourmet Paradise is a game where the player controls the title character, who must consume all enemies on each stage. The primary method for this involves strategic placement of laser-emitting bowls. When one bowl is positioned on the left and another on the right, a connecting beam traps any foes caught between them, converting them into edible peaches.
Consuming these peaches awards points, measured in calories, with consecutive collections increasing their value. The level progression is challenging, as cleared screens are quickly repopulated, and advancement only occurs once every enemy is defeated. Environmental navigation adds complexity, as Mr. Chin is restricted to brick platforms while enemies can traverse thin lines.
Additional gameplay elements include the ability to punch bricks from below, which may destroy them and occasionally reveal power-ups. These items can grant temporary advantages, such as invincibility or the instant transformation of all enemies into peaches.
