Buster Brothers Overview
Buster Brothers is a platform game where players eliminate bouncing balloons across fifty levels. The primary method involves firing upward hooks that burst balloons on contact, causing larger ones to split into smaller versions until they vanish. Movement is limited to climbing ladders, as jumping is not possible.
Levels can feature barriers, some destructible with hooks and others permanent, which may obstruct access to balloons. The game supports both single-player and cooperative play on the same screen, with a second player able to join at any time.
Various collectible items appear to alter gameplay. These include weapons like a dual-shot hook, a ceiling-mounted trap hook, and a rapid-fire gun that cannot break barriers. Other pickups provide temporary effects such as stopping time, shrinking all balloons to their smallest size, or granting extra lives.
