Triple Play 2001 Overview
Triple Play 2001 represents the sole handheld adaptation of Electronic Arts' baseball series, released for the Game Boy Color. It simulates the 2000 MLB season with authentic teams, players, and stadiums.
Gameplay involves managing pitching, batting, fielding, and base running. Players can adjust the challenge by selecting from three difficulty levels and setting game length from one to nine innings. Team rosters are not fixed and can be altered by the user.
Beyond standard exhibition matches, a dedicated Home Run Derby mode is included. In this mode, a chosen batter attempts to out-homer a competitor, needing to advance past each round by hitting more home runs before accumulating ten outs.
