WCW Mayhem is a licensed wrestling title featuring twelve real world athletes. Victory is achieved by pinning an opponent's shoulders to the mat for a three count, a condition made possible by depleting their energy through successfully executed moves.
Matches are not confined to the ring, as combat can extend into backstage areas like the locker room or even outside the arena. The game offers several modes, including a career path where the objective is to win the championship by progressing through fair tiers of competition.
Alongside this structured mode and standard matches against computer controlled opponents, the game supports two player competition against another human.
