The Great Battle Pocket Overview
The Great Battle Pocket is a role-playing game centered on card battles, derived from The Great Battle series. The player character, a young person, uses a portable computer named CAOS to enter tournaments organized by the Battle Unit Card Society.
Victory in combat is achieved by eliminating all opposing units or having more units survive after twenty turns. Battles involve choosing three cards from a set of six and positioning them on a grid, where their location influences attack range and special functions. Players alternate giving orders to attack, defend, or utilize items.
The game incorporates a real-time clock, making certain tournaments accessible only at specific times. A player's standing, which begins at rank 50, will gradually decline each day the system is powered off. Advancing to the highest rank requires tournament success, though other non-player characters can be fought to gain currency, items, or new cards.
Its collection of 150 unit cards draws characters from the Gundam, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman series, with each franchise contributing fifty cards divided into two distinct groups.
