Pokémon Sapphire Version Overview
Pokémon Sapphire Version is an unlicensed strategy RPG for the Game Boy Color, distinct from the official Game Boy Advance title sharing its name. Progression centers on a starting party of six unevolved Pokémon, which can be expanded by recruiting new members after victorious battles.
Combat unfolds on a grid, where positioning is key. After moving their units each turn, a player may opt to use an item or initiate an attack if an enemy is within range. Attacks come in two forms: standard strikes or special moves that expend SP, a resource analogous to mana. Any offensive action, however, can trigger a counterattack from all foes positioned to retaliate.
Character development occurs through gaining experience from defeated opponents, leading to level advancement. Upon reaching specific levels, Pokémon can evolve and acquire new abilities. The battlefield also contains interactive elements like treasure chests and houses that hold various items.
