Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker Overview
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker for the Game Boy Color is a beat 'em up title. Its narrative follows Terry McGinnis, a teenager who has assumed the Batman mantle from an aged Bruce Wayne. The story progresses through cutscene dialogues placed between the action sequences.
Terry's mission involves stopping the Joker and his gang, the Jokerz, after they rob a facility called Gotham Air & Space. The player guides this new Batman through five primary levels to disrupt the villain's plans. While the path through these levels sometimes branches, all routes ultimately converge at the same destination, though different enemy encounters may be experienced.
Combat is centered on basic punches and kicks. Throughout the environments, Terry can also find and use various specialized items. These tools, which modify his movement or augment his attacks, include equipment like Boot Jets, a Dark Knight shield, and projectile weapons such as Batwings and a discus.
