Spider-Man Overview
Spider-Man for the Game Boy Advance is a side-scrolling platformer that adapts elements from the 2002 film. The player controls Peter Parker, utilizing his wall-crawling and web-swinging skills to navigate a New York City setting.
Progress is made through twelve primary levels, which feature objectives such as reaching an exit point, saving non-player characters, or deactivating explosive devices. These secondary tasks often introduce a time constraint and may require deviation from the central route. Each stage concludes with a confrontation against a boss enemy drawn from the comic book lore.
Gameplay systems include collectible power-ups, which primarily enhance web-based abilities, and a photo mechanic. When prompted at specific locations, pressing a designated button captures an image, unlocking stills from the movie in a separate gallery. The experience also incorporates three-dimensional bonus stages where the perspective shifts to a behind-the-character view during urban traversal.
