Shining Soul II Overview
Shining Soul II is a real time action role playing game where players select one of eight characters to combat monsters and acquire equipment. The narrative begins with a tournament at Klantol Castle, which is quickly abandoned when the king's daughter disappears, prompting the player's true quest.
This quest follows a prior victory over the Dark Dragon, a victory that restored light but ultimately destabilized the world's balance. As darkness resurges, a prophet's warning is ignored and he is killed by an agent named Gillespie. This agent further manipulates events by giving a forbidden artifact to the king's adviser, Deatharte.
Gameplay involves navigating environments outside the castle, engaging in combat, and casting spells. A notable system allows character resistances to improve through exposure, such as standing in harmless fire or surviving damaging traps.
The core objective shifts from the initial tournament to a journey against the encroaching darkness, with the player character tasked to find the missing princess and confront the growing threat.
