Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase Overview
Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase is a Game Boy Advance title where players investigate a mystery set in motion by a malfunctioning laser. This device, created by a student, can transport people into a digital realm, and its test run with a Scooby-Doo game accidentally releases a Phantom Virus into the real world.
Progress is structured around a central laboratory level that connects to six distinct computer levels. Access to these digital stages is controlled by collecting CDs found in the lab, with new discs becoming available only after previous levels are finished. Players control one member of Mystery Inc. at a time, switching to another if the current character loses all health from enemy contact.
The core gameplay involves navigating levels to gather specific items while avoiding threats. Key pickups include disguises for stealth, health-restoring smiley faces, and scattered Scooby Snacks. A level is completed by collecting a required number of these snacks to summon a special box. Boss encounters feature either classic villains who must be defeated or the Phantom Virus, who must be evaded until the final confrontation.
A clue collection system underpins the mystery. The game saves progress via passwords, recording clues found, remaining characters, and score. Victory is ultimately determined not just by completing levels, but by using the gathered evidence to correctly identify which suspect unleashed the virus in a final deduction.
