Next Generation Tennis Overview
Roland Garros French Open 2002 is a licensed tennis title for the Game Boy Advance, featuring both the Roland Garros and US Open tournaments. While sharing core content with its PC and PlayStation 2 counterparts, this handheld version presents the action in 2D and adapts its controls for the system.
Players can choose from a roster of four official and six fictional athletes. The available modes include arcade, training, exhibition, career, and multi-player, all supporting singles or doubles matches. A link cable enables multiplayer competition for up to four participants.
Progression is handled through the arcade and career modes. Success in arcade play unlocks additional courts, gear, and characters. The career mode focuses on developing a player by using tournament winnings to fund further training and equipment purchases.
