Dora the Explorer : Dora's World Adventure! Overview
Dora the Explorer: Dora's World Adventure! is a game adaptation of the television special, structured around a global journey to recover stolen friendship bracelets. The narrative centers on Friendship Day, a celebration where glowing bracelets brighten the sky, which are taken by Swiper using his Swiper-copter. After his vehicle fails, Swiper repents and joins Dora to return the bracelets to four specific countries: France, Tanzania, Russia, and China.
Players access the adventure through two main menu options. Story Mode allows progression through all twenty levels, while Play Any Game enables immediate selection of any individual stage. The level selection is organized via a globe interface, where choosing a region reveals its available stages. Notably, selecting Dora's home from the first globe page begins the story, while the same location on the second page accesses later stages.
The gameplay is divided into sets of four levels for each of the four foreign countries, plus two final levels set at home. Initial stages in each country involve travel using various transportation methods. Subsequent levels often task the player with navigating mazes to collect three items, though one Russian stage is dedicated to skiing. The final stage in each foreign location involves finding that country's version of Swiper. The overall difficulty rises as the game progresses, and players cannot exit a level until it is completed, though pausing is permitted.
