Board Game Classics Overview
Board Game Classics is a compilation of Chess, Checkers, and Backgammon for the Game Boy Advance. The software provides several modes of play, including matches against a computer opponent with selectable difficulty, local multiplayer against another person, and automated computer versus computer matches. Tournament play against the computer is also an option.
Customization is available for the visual presentation, allowing players to select different avatars, board designs, and sets of playing pieces. Each of the three included games supports optional rule variations. These include forced capture in Checkers, castling and en passant in Chess, and specific scoring and automatic doubling rules for Backgammon.
