Alienators: Evolution Continues is a side scrolling action title adapted from its animated television counterpart. Players assume the role of Ira, the captain of the Alienator team, with the objective of clearing a research facility of mutated creatures.
Progression involves navigating twelve maze like levels rather than straightforward paths, requiring exploration to complete objectives and locate keycards. The primary defense is a standard weapon with unlimited ammunition, supplemented by more potent special weapons that use unique, finite ammo found throughout the game.
Managing these special resources is important, as they are needed for confrontations with eight boss enemies. Characters from the television series also appear within the game, some assisting and others opposing the player.
