Galaxy Invaders Overview
Galaxy Invaders was one of those Flash games you'd find on a gaming portal in the early 2000s. It was a straightforward take on the classic arcade formula, a familiar sight among the wave of browser-based shooters. You loaded it up, and there it was, a simple grid of alien ships descending toward your lone defender.
You control a small ship at the bottom of the screen, moving it left and right with the arrow keys. Your job is to stop the advancing alien formation from reaching the bottom. You fire your main weapon with the mouse, tapping away at the blocks of enemies. Some versions included a secondary missile attack, often mapped to the control key, for breaking through tougher lines. The pace is steady, the aliens creeping downward with each volley you fire, their movement speeding up as their numbers thin. It feels like a focused, rhythmic task of clearing the screen before you're overwhelmed.
