Resident Evil Apocalypse Overview
Resident Evil Apocalypse was one of those Flash games you'd find on a fan site in the mid 2000s. It captured the look of the early console games but ran right in your browser. The release year is not something I recall clearly, and the developer's name isn't prominent in the game itself. It was simply part of that era where you could spend an afternoon with a quick, familiar concept.
You control a lone character from a top-down perspective, moving through streets and buildings overrun by zombies. Your main objective is to survive the onslaught, clearing areas of the undead as you progress. You shoot the incoming zombies with multiple types of weapons, switching between a handgun and a shotgun when ammo allows. Movement is handled with the arrow keys, and you fire with the spacebar. The pacing is relentless; zombies approach from all sides, and managing your limited ammunition becomes a constant concern. It feels tense and straightforward, a compact test of reflexes in a familiar setting.
