Metal Fusion Overview
Metal Fusion was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, a straightforward action shooter built in Flash. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick, satisfying way to pass time in a browser, and that was its appeal. You loaded it up, and within seconds you were in the fight.
You control a lone soldier in a side-scrolling industrial complex. Your goal is simple: clear each room of robotic enemies and collect the glowing stones they leave behind. Movement is basic with keys for left, right, and jump, while your mouse aims and fires your weapon. You start with a standard rifle, but you quickly find others, like a shotgun or a rocket launcher, which you can cycle through with the scroll wheel. The pace is relentless; enemies swarm from platforms and corridors, and you're constantly jumping to avoid fire while lining up your own shots. It feels direct and uncomplicated, a pure test of reflexive shooting and positioning.
