Silk Overview
Silk is a DOS game where players use arrow keys and the spacebar to draw lines from the screen's edge, gradually revealing a hidden image. The objective is to uncover at least eighty percent of a concealed picture, which depicts a woman in revealing attire, to progress. Achieving full completion triggers a brief celebratory animation.
The gameplay is challenging due to hostile entities like spiders and clowns that patrol the area. Contact between these enemies and the player's drawn line results in a lost life. These adversaries increase in size over time, creating pressure to complete each level quickly. Players can also draw lines to collect beneficial items, such as food for extra time, while avoiding hazards that deplete it.
As a variation on the Qix genre, it includes elements like sudden screen changes that can be reverted by capturing specific bonus items. The game contains soft pornographic content and is noted as unsuitable for young children. Technical aspects like graphics and sound are described as very basic, reflecting the game's small scale.
