Game & Watch Gallery 2 Overview
Game & Watch Gallery 2 is a collection of five simple action games originally released in the 1980s. Each title is presented in two distinct visual styles: a monochrome classic version and a full color modern version that incorporates characters from the Mario series.
Progression is tied to a star system. Players earn one star for every 200 points scored in any game variant, with a maximum of five stars available per variant. Accumulating stars unlocks additional content, such as a sound test, more classic Game & Watch titles, and a sixth modernized game called Ball.
The gameplay across the collection involves straightforward, time sensitive tasks. These include catching falling characters or food, avoiding hazards, and striking targets that emerge from holes. The modern rendition of Donkey Kong involves collecting keys and evading obstacles to rescue a character. Each game variant tracks a high score and offers both an easy and a challenging mode.
The unlockable Ball game introduces a stricter rule, where a single mistake immediately ends the session. This contrasts with the other games, which typically allow play to continue after an error.
