Elite Soccer is a Game Boy title offering international football competition. It features a selection of twenty four national sides, such as Brazil, England, France, and the United States.
Competition formats include a full World Cup tournament and a direct knockout option. A two player mode is available for direct competition between individuals.
The presentation uses an overhead perspective for general play, switching to a third person view specifically for penalty kicks. Numerous match conditions are adjustable, including weather, indoor or outdoor settings, and goalkeeper ability. The game's rules can also be modified.
Player customization extends to editing both the visual appearance and the statistical attributes of team members.
