Pocket Soccer Overview
Pocket Soccer is a simplified five-a-side football simulation for the Game Boy Color. Its core action is managed with two buttons, one for passing or tackling and another for shooting, facilitating a fast-paced style of play.
Beyond a standard exhibition match, the game structures competition through playoff tournaments and a league mode. The league incorporates a player trading system as teams progress. A variety of fictional locations, such as a beach or a schoolyard, serve as the settings for matches.
Team and player customization is extensive. Users can modify team names, colors, and lineups, while individual athletes can have their names, gender, and appearance altered. Each virtual player possesses a detailed set of attributes, including speed, power, and intelligence, which collectively determine team performance.
Multiplayer is supported via a link cable connection between two consoles. Several match types are available, including a quick-start option that randomly selects the competing teams and venue.
