Titeuf : Ze Gagmachine Overview
Titeuf: Ze Gag Machine is an action title derived from the comic series, where the player directs the protagonist through environments like a school or playground. The core activity involves picking up various items, such as bananas or firecrackers, and using them to startle or trip non-player characters.
Character movement is possible in eight directions, and success is measured by completing specific gags to earn trophies. Opponents exhibit a three-stage alert system, progressing from a safe blue state to a chasing red state, which requires a sprint action to evade. Being caught results in the loss of a life, represented by a red star, though extra lives can occasionally be found. Pursuing characters will eventually tire and revert to a non-alert condition.
Levels are structured around objectives, which can include executing a set number of gags, collecting items, or maintaining a sprint for a required duration. Fulfilling the primary goal unlocks an exit. Upon completion, performance is rated, factoring in the time taken. A separate practice mode, called crash test, provides all items immediately with unlimited lives and no time constraints. Progress can be saved and resumed using a password system based on objects.
