Rockman Zero 4 is a platform game where the player controls Zero to oppose the antagonist Dr. Weil, whose goal is the conquest of Neo Arcadia. This conflict involves preventing the unification of humans and reploids.
Gameplay consists of navigating through missions filled with numerous enemy encounters. Outside of these action sequences, players can engage in preparatory activities such as adjusting Zero's arsenal and conversing with other characters to gain information.
A new environmental mechanic allows for the manipulation of weather conditions, which is used to solve specific obstacles during play.
